Our Founding Story

Resources was founded in 1996 as a division of Deloitte & Touche LLP. In April of 1999, CEO Don Murray led a management buyout, and we went public in December of 2000. While our leaders are proud of our Big Four heritage, they had long envisioned a new kind of professional services firm.

Traditional consulting takes an "outside in" approach to helping business - evaluating best practices, making recommendations and leaving implementation to clients. Resources pioneered an "inside out" approach, where consultants could work in partnership with leaders and their teams to transfer knowledge, build operational capability and drive change through all levels of the enterprise. Business leaders have been receptive to this way of working - we now have more than 2,900 professionals on four continents helping our clients succeed.
